Radio Interview Script (first draft)

In order to answer one of the 7 evaluation questions, I need to have a radio Interview, here is the script to mine so you can see how it will go. I am likely to record this either with my mobile phone or with a TASCAM DR40, the same model I used in the process of filming. This interview will require 3 people and lots of editing due to all the different music I will need. The three members will be:
Radio DJ
Media Show Host (interviewer)
And the guest (interviewee)
Use the above roles to help work out who is speaking in the transcript. (attract and address)

Talk show host: Good afternoon listeners, I have a very special star with me today, Mr. Ben Bishop, say hello Ben
Music dimms after her line ends
Ben: Hi (hostname, currently undecided)

Host: welcome to the show, now let us start by talking film, your new piece is ...

Ben:  Blissful Torture

Host: You have quite a big reputation for always keeping in touch with your audience, how do you do this?

Ben: Understanding your audience is just a part of being a director, the audience is who the film is made for. If you don't understand them then the film won't get very far.

Host: so how do you go about getting to know your audience?

Ben: multiple ways, to start you need to understand who you need to target, your target audience. Research into what that audience likes, what they watch, in general try and get to know them as best as possible. That then helps you immensely.

Host: So just getting to know your audience that little bit better makes a huge difference

Ben: tt does, then you must set about addressing them, you can allow yourself to refocus on the essentials here, get to know the basics of the target audience, then you can begin to look deeper into their preferences.

Host: but how does looking at their preferences help?

Ben: you know what you will need to feature in order to progress to the next stage which is to attract the audience.

Host: so now we have addressed them, we can set about trying to attract them?

Ben: we can, a common way of getting to know the audience better and at the same time hear their opinions is through a focus group.

Host: so have you ever held a focus group? What is it like?

I have held many during the current process of my production, it allows me to see what the target audience thinks and it allows me to improve even further. Normally i hold small groups so i can hear individual opinions in a short space of time however once i am finished with filming i will move onto bigger groups in order to get a wider view of what my film is like from a different perspective.

Host: Are there any other ways of attracting the audience?

Ben: yes, for example I have been recently been working on the poster for the film. The poster to any film is another way to really alert the audience of the films presence.

Host: and how has the process been of creating the poster?

Ben: creating a poster may seem like a very simple task, but when it could be the key to attracting all those viewers that you need, you start to question what you have done. Is that good enough? Will it attract the audience etc...

Host: Did you find making yours very difficult?

Ben: To start, yes. I was unsure how to go about arranging all the key information. The actors names, the production names, quotes, ratings, all that stuff has to fit somewhere. So I took a look at other films in the genre as a way of finding inspiration. Their layouts gave me ideas which I then implemented into the poster and the finished product is highly praised by my target audience which is exactly what I needed it to do.

Host: Are there any other ways in which you have attracted your audience?

Ben: a trailer will soon be released which will hopefully boost the amount of people who are interested in the film, as well as this I am being interviewed soon which will be uploaded youtube.

Host: Do you know the topic of the interview or is just a general talk?

Ben: No, no, they wanted to ask me some questions about how I have been addressing my audience.

Host: One final question, do you think the film will be a success? Do you think you will be able to attract the audience you need?

Ben: Theoretically, yes. In reality, I really can't say. A lot of work has been put into this so hopefully it will pay off however the distribution process will be very limited as not everywhere will want to display my film?

Host: oh, why not?

Ben: Main cinemas don't usually show off indie works, low budget creations. This means my film will only be shown in a few places. But that is a topic for another day.

Host: indeed it is, we shall have to have you on again some time.

Ben: I would like that.

Host: it been lovely to have you and best of luck with the film.

Ben: thank you very much.
Music begins to play (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Rwzst9RppI)
Host: thanks for listening, here's some Arcade High with Outrun this! The time is 9:25, the news is coming up next.
Music, as well as all other remaining audio will fade out , marking the end of the radio interview.

Again, similar to the video interview script, this looks long but i'm not to sure that it will last long. That's why I am calling it my first draft as I am bound to have further ideas about how to improve. I am also currently in the process of gathering a crew for both the video and radio interview. Work is scheduled to begin next Monday (6/3/16). I will be filming another focus group as well as filming the actor at the start of the video interview. As well as this, I will be investigating a sound proof room for me to record my radio interview in. Once the room is located, recording will start as soon as possible in order to finished work on time.
